There are so many things that were going through my head when I saw that we were going to the Tech Edge conference. I just thought it was fun that I got to see my mom present for the first time! I went to the keynote, all three presenters, and the closing session.
The first session I attended was on SMART boards. It was very interesting to learn about, but I feel like as being so early in my career that it would be hard to retain the information, but also there will be so much more technology with SMART boards, that most of the process will probably be irrelevant. I really did enjoy seeing that he was just a teacher, he even said he had no idea how he got the spot to present. Which reassured me that anyone is able to succeed.
The second session I attended was my mom’s livebinders. I have to admit I was more distracted during the presentation because my dad kept texting me asking how she was doing. It was also hard I was looking more at what she was doing with her hand to comment later when she asked how her body movement was. I feel like as of now I would probably not use livebinders. But as I develop my future curriculum I see where it could come in handy.
The last session I went to was Web 2.0. I think this was one of my favorite sessions. It was something that I could use during my student career and teaching career. It would help out in so many ways. From showing us Glogster, Voki, Wordle, and talking QR codes. It was very interesting and I just wanted to hear him keep talking about different sites that I can use now and in my future! It was a great experience being being in his seminar.
I am so glad that I had the experience to go to my first Tech Conference!
